Welcome to BLOK, a one-of-a-kind tiny house in the heart of Canada's boreal forest. With every glance, enjoy an intimate contact with pure nature as far as the eye can see!

*If you plan to visit our home during the winter season (November 1st to April 15th), please note that you will need an all-wheel drive (AWD, 4x4) vehicle and winter tires to access the property. A shuttle service is also available; please contact the host for more information!

The accommodation is designed to accommodate 7 guests, and can accommodate up to 9 guests in total using the sofa bed. Perfect for a family getaway or an unforgettable stay with friends.

**Please note that access between floors is via a ladder inside the apartment. The trapdoor in the floor can be closed for safety reasons. Standard-sized stairs connect the first two floors from the outside.

The kitchen is fully equipped with modern amenities: refrigerator, microwave, oven, hob, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine, utensils and a complete set of cookware to prepare delicious meals. The terraces and outdoor amenities, such as the spa, barbecue and wood-burning fireplace, and climbing wall, are accessible year-round, allowing you to enjoy the outdoors in any season.

Treat yourself to an unforgettable experience surrounded by nature while remaining close to amenities. A 10-minute drive away, you'll find a high-end supermarket, a bakery offering fresh croissants and specialty breads, and a diverse selection of local restaurants. A multitude of activities are available directly on site, thanks to the Sentiers du Moulin recreational trails, which also offer an equipment rental service.

A 30-minute drive away is Old Quebec City. The walls of Old Quebec contain 400 years of history and culture. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is also the cradle of French civilization in North America, a small slice of Europe with the architecture, cuisine, and charm that entails. In just a few hours, you can visit the sites of world-changing battles, enjoy an authentic Canadian meal overlooking cobblestone streets or the St. Lawrence River, and discover the works of multiple generations of local artists.

The property is located in Lac-Beauport, a small municipality just north of Quebec City. More precisely, the property sits atop the private "Maelstrom" estate, a unique site dedicated to short-term vacation rentals and outdoor recreational activities.

To minimize the impact on the surrounding nature, the municipality's architectural requirements impose a maximum surface area of 20m2 per floor per 10-acre plot for each dwelling. There's plenty of forest surrounding the house, ensuring unparalleled tranquility and privacy! Maelstrom is actually a 900-acre mountain with panoramic views on every slope. An extensive network of recreational trails connects all of Maelstrom's properties. The trails are managed by a local non-profit organization called Sentiers du Moulin. Visit their website and stop by their beautiful visitor center located at the base of the mountain. This is where the equipment rental shop for all the on-site activities is located.

The accommodation is located in the mountains (altitude 550 meters), accessible by a 4 kilometer private road. To get there, you must have a car or book a shuttle service directly with us. During the summer season (from April 15th to November 1st), any type of car is suitable to access the property. WINTER STAYS: During the winter season, from November 1st to April 15th, an all-wheel drive (AWD, 4x4) car is required to access the property. During the winter season, it is also possible to arrange a shuttle service with us. This service must be planned in advance and includes an additional fee of $100 CAD + taxes.

TAXI and UBER: Due to the unique location of the property, it is not recommended to rely on taxi or Uber services for transportation. These services are rare in the area, so finding transportation may be difficult or impossible, and you may have difficulty leaving the property. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding transportation.

It is important to note that moving between floors of the house can be done in 2 ways:

1- Via the ladder located inside the house. (It is possible to completely close the floor hatch for the safety of guests). The 3rd floor is only accessible by ladder.

2- Using the exterior stairs. (standard full-size stairs). The external staircase only connects the first two floors.
