Experience an unforgettable stay in this warm and romantic chalet, inspired by the French Alps. Situated at the summit of the mountain, just 30 minutes from the historic city of Quebec, this micro-home offers a breathtaking panoramic view. Accommodating up to 6 guests, enjoy stunning views of the valley and mountains, whether inside or outside. And what about the majestic fireplace on the terrace, perfect for cozy moments under the stars!
Welcome to CHAMONIX, a grand micro-home in the heart of the Canadian boreal forest.
*If you plan to visit our house during the winter season (from November 1 to April 15), please note that you will need a car with all-wheel drive (AWD, 4x4) and winter tires to access the property. Shuttle service is also available; please contact the host for more information!
The accommodation is designed to comfortably host 4 guests, but it is possible to accommodate up to 6 people by using the sofa bed in the living room. Please note that an attic-style staircase connects the two floors inside the home. Standard-sized exterior stairs connect the two levels outside.
The kitchen is fully equipped with modern amenities: refrigerator, freezer, microwave, oven, stovetop, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine, utensils, and a full set of cookware to prepare delicious meals. The terraces and outdoor equipment, such as the barbecue and wood-burning fireplace, are available year-round, allowing you to enjoy the outdoors in any season.
Treat yourself to an intimate experience in the heart of nature while remaining close to essential services. Just a 10-minute drive away, you will find a high-end supermarket, a bakery offering fresh croissants and specialty breads, as well as a variety of local restaurants. A multitude of activities are available on-site thanks to the recreational trails of Sentiers du Moulin, which also offers equipment rentals.
Just 30 minutes away by car is Old Quebec, a UNESCO World Heritage site with 400 years of history and culture. This gem is the cradle of French civilization in North America, offering a small piece of Europe with its architecture, cuisine, and charm. In just a few hours, you can visit battle sites that changed the world, enjoy an authentic Canadian meal with a view of the cobblestone streets or the St. Lawrence River, and explore works by multiple generations of local artists.
Guests have access to the entire property. Feel free to message me via the Airbnb app for any questions or assistance with your stay. In case of emergency, you can contact me directly by phone.
The property is located in Lac-Beauport, a small municipality just north of Quebec City. More precisely, the accommodation is at the top of the private “Maelstrom” domain, a unique site dedicated to short-term vacation rentals and outdoor recreational activities. To minimize the impact on the surrounding nature, municipal architectural requirements mandate a maximum floor area of 20m² per level per 10-acre plot for each home. Surrounded by plenty of forest, this ensures an unmatched sense of tranquility and intimacy! In fact, Maelstrom is a mountain with 900 acres offering panoramic views from every side. A vast network of recreational trails connects all the properties within Maelstrom. The trails are managed by a non-profit organization called Sentiers du Moulin. Visit their website and stop by their beautiful visitor center at the base of the mountain, where the equipment rental shop is located for all on-site activities.
The property is located in the mountains (at an altitude of 550 meters), accessible via a 4-kilometer private road. To reach it, you must have a car or book a shuttle service directly with us.
For the Summer Season (April 15 to November 1), any type of vehicle is suitable to access the property.
Winter Stays: During the winter season (November 1 to April 15), a vehicle with all-wheel drive (AWD, 4x4) is required to access the property. A shuttle service can also be arranged with us during the winter season. This service must be planned in advance and comes with an additional charge of 100 CAD + taxes.
Taxis and Uber: Due to the remote location of the property, it is not advisable to rely on taxi or Uber services for transport. These services are scarce in the area, and it may be difficult, or even impossible, to find transportation, making it hard to leave the house. Please contact us if you have any questions about transport.
